The Universe Spoke to Me Today
It told me to go outside, into
the forest and mountains where lakes hide;
where big cats prowl, hidden,
and where trunks of trees bow in any given direction
for sunlight.
The universe spoke to me today,
through a woman.
She asked me if I am happy, and I said
generally (which is a fairly generous lie).
Kathy, that's her name, told me that I should
go outside, into
the sunlight, in any given direction;
that I should bow to the trees and
let free my trunk of hidden emotion.
To prowl as cats do, in our land of big lakes
and mountains, and forest.
The universe spoke to me today,
and by writing this poem,
I hope to have listened.
